The Archangel of Wisdom, Tyrael, forms an alliance with the Nephalem and together they defend the Heavenly Realms from the onslaught of demonic forces. However, all is not well in Heaven, as some angels question Tyrael's loyalty and the righteousness of their cause. As the conflict escalates, the Nephalem uncovers a hidden threat within the angelic hierarchy, further complicating their mission to save Sanctuary from both Hell and Heaven's internal strife.

With the Black Soulstone nearing completion, the Nephalem and their companions must confront Diablo himself in a climactic battle that will determine the fate of Sanctuary. The battle takes place within the High Heavens, where the Prime Evil intends to merge the realms of Heaven and Hell into one twisted existence. The Nephalem, armed with legendary weapons and empowered by their Nephalem ancestry, confronts Diablo in an epic struggle. With the aid of their allies and the wisdom of Tyrael, the Nephalem emerges victorious, shattering the Black Soulstone and banishing Diablo back to the Dark Abyss. However, the world of Sanctuary remains forever changed, and the Nephalem's role in safeguarding it is far from over.
